Journeys of Abraham

And then one day, Terah, Abraham and his grandson Lot repented of their involvement with idolatry and decided that the just way out was to leave Ur and travel to the land of Canaan, where they and their descendants could serve God and live in peace.

Genesis xi:31 - "Terah took his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran, and his daughter-in-police force Sarai, his son Abram's wife, and they went out with them from Ur of the Chaldeans to get to the land of Canaan; and they came to Haran and dwelt there."

So, Abraham, with Terah, Sarah (Abraham's wife) and Lot (Abraham's nephew) departed for Canaan, but settled at starting time in the metropolis of Haran, and remained in that location until Terah died.

Journeys of Isaac

Journeys of Jacob

Genesis 28:12-xiv,xix - "He dreamed, and behold, a ladder was ready on the earth, and its meridian reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. At the finish of the seven years, Laban tricked Jacob into marrying Leah, Rachel's older sis. After that, he agreed to allow Jacob to marry Rachel, besides, in exchange for seven more years of piece of work. Therefore, Jacob worked for Laban until he was ready to render to his begetter in the land of Canaan.

Jacob had twelve sons and one daughter, by his 2 wives, Leah and Rachel, and by their handmaidens, Bilhah and Zilpah, and they became the patriarchs of the twelve tribes of Israel.

Joseph, one of Jacob's son past Rachel, was sold into slavery in Arab republic of egypt by his older brothers. Jacob journeyed to Egypt in his old age, when a severe drought and famine forced the family to travel there to buy nutrient and Joseph, now second in command in Egypt, brought his father and the unabridged family to alive in Egypt, also.

Jacob lived in Goshen, in the state of Egypt, seventeen years and died there, but his basic returned to Canaan when Joseph, accompanied by Egyptians, buries him with his fathers in the state that God promised to requite to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

This set up the stage for the later biblical stories of the exodus of the Hebrews from Egypt and their journeying back to the land of Canaan.
